Crabtowne Forums

We are experimenting with a trial of a new club communications tool. Please take a look at the "Forums". We hope that these Forums can enhance our member-to-member communications in our key activity areas for questions and answers about upcoming events, ideas for new events, last minute changes, etc.

We are beginning our trial with Forums specifically related to our various activity committees:

Any Crabtowne member may register to get permissions to post to the Forums when using the email address registered in the official Crabtowne membership database. Please register using your real name or a recognizable variation... we would rather not deal with pseudonyms.

These are all "moderated" forums, meaning that a "moderator" is responsible for keeping all postings on-topic and civil. Example... nothing but hiking stuff should be discussed in the Hiking Forum. The moderator may choose to edit, move, or delete any off-topic, argumentative, or offensive material. Violators of these "terms of service" may have their posting privileges removed by the moderators.

We have already had one mysterious database problem which has resulted in starting from scratch one more time. This means that previous user "registrations" were lost. Our ISP was unable to help us restore the forums. Although the source of the problem is unknown, we have now instituted a database backup procedure which should help to protect us from future problems.
